It’s past mid-November, so let’s check in on that challenge I accepted. Remember, I said I was going to participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and produce a manuscript in a month? The month is more than half over but I’m not half done. I’ve made lots of progress, though. I have a binder full of notes on characters, scenes, settings and a lot of the other stuff that goes into writing a novel. But I don’t have a whole lot of words.
Maybe you remember that talking Barbie doll who said, “Math class is hard!” Well, I feel like that Barbie right now when I say, “Writing a novel is hard!” It’s fun, yes, but it’s freaking hard. I am going to wade through it, though. (Had to bail on running a half-marathon this year–one ridiculous challenge at a time, please.) At the end of the month, I will have more of a manuscript than I’ve ever had. And, so far, I like what I’ve written . . .most of it.
How about you? Did you commit to any challenges this month? NaBloPoMo*? Exercise more? Eat less? Sleep more?
Let us know in the comments!
*NaBloPoMo: National Blog Post Month–you write a blog post a day through out the month. Maybe it’s hypomania speaking, but that sounds more daunting than writing a novel.
